Koenigia forrestii

This genus includes Britain's most recently discovered native, and probably its most insignificant! In contrast there is an Asiatic species, a distant relative of rhubarb, which is quite showy.

Koenigia forrestii is quite showy, with white flowers clustered on upright stems, above round, dark green leaves. It makes low, gently spreading clumps. Originally identified and introduced by George Forrest.
