The Armerina section contains some small plants, mostly from northern regions, which tend to have clusters of flowers on tall stems over rosettes of small leaves, without any significant amount of meal on leaves or stems. In most cases a single stem looks too lanky and uncomfortable; a patch looks splendid. But they all quickly make substantial mats, and benefit from splitting every year or two.
Primula munroi subsp. yargongensis makes mats of small, spoon-shaped leaves, with relatively tall stems carrying the umbels of flowers. This subspecies originates from China, with deep pink flowers. Like all the other forms, it has a fine scent.
