Heuchera americana
Most members of this genus are grown for their foliage, and there is a huge range of varieties with exotic coloured leaves. They make great ground cover, or can be used to soften the edges of paths. See also the closely related Tiarella, and x Heucherella, which are hybrids of Heuchera and Tiarella. Heuchera americana has fresh green foliage with red veins. Panicles of greeny-white flowers appear in early summer.
