The Heleniums have big daisy-like flowers, but with wide, overlapping petals and a strong, raised central cone rather than a disc. They are usually yellow or orange, and are extremely useful herbaceous perennials to give colour in late summer and autumn.

Helenium 'Sahin's Early Flowerer' is long-flowering (from June through to October), with orange-streaked pink and yellow flowers. It will provide a real warmth of colour in a sunny border.
