Grape hyacinths have tight heads of small, bell-shaped flowers on an erect stem. They multiply quickly to give good colour in spring.
Muscari 'Big Smile' is a fairly new variety, selected for its particularly large flowers, which are bright blue. It should be good planted in large groups, making clear splashes of colour.
